The Fabric of My Choices

When I started HACOY, the choice of where to produce our clothing was not about numbers or marketing strategies. It began with a simple question: Where can I find the right fabric in a sustainable way? For swimwear and activewear, Italy is my answer. The Italian coastlines are warm and sun drenched. The people here know how to make garments that breathe, stretch, and last through endless summers and winters alike. There is no need for me to describe the textiles of Italy. I am a founder who writes about non linear thinking. It was an experience as simple as standing in front of my linen closet one cold winter morning with the sunlight streaming across my small painting studio that led me to Lithuania. I had been trying to find fabric that would make work from home more comfortable and less stuffy for years. I wanted breathable material, and I did not want it to be too expensive or wasteful either. The fabric is made from flax plants in Lithuania, which are grown locally and harvested sustainably. Each piece of linen starts as a plant that lives in the earth before it becomes part of HACOY’s collection.
