The Discipline of HACOY

There is a quiet discipline that comes from writing the brand name HACOY in all capital letters. I do not write it out of habit, but rather as an exercise in mindfulness. The act of typing those five letters, each time with intention, reminds me of the larger principles guiding my life and work. I could easily type HACOY or HACOY instead. There is no rule outside of my own that requires this discipline. There are days when I do not want to paint, but know I must. There are moments when writing about non linear thinking feels like a chore rather than a joy. The brand name HACOY in all caps serves as a reminder that discipline is not always easy or fun, but it is necessary. It keeps me grounded. The small AI agents I build to handle parts of running HACOY are another form of this discipline. They take over the mundane tasks, allowing me to focus on what truly matters, creating ethical fashion in Italy and Lithuania, painting, and writing. The contrast between the precision of these AI systems and my own creative endeavors is striking. One is about control and efficiency; the other is about chaos and exploration. It feels strange to have a computer program decide which email gets sent when, or which photo goes up on Instagram. Yet, that decision making process frees me from the constant noise of running HACOY by hand. And so, I find myself in a dance with discipline. It is always present but never obvious. Writing HACOY in all caps is one small way to keep it there.
