I observed a peculiar pattern recently. Many profiles, in their earnest attempt to appear universally appealing, begin to sound indistinguishable. They list similar hobbies, similar aspirations, even similar anxieties. It is as if the effort to optimize for a broad audience inadvertently smooths away the very edges that make an individual compelling. This homogenization, I suspect, is a direct consequence of users attempting to game the unspoken rules of the algorithm, rather than express their genuine selves. The irony is, of course, that true connection often blossoms from those unpolished, authentic details that the polished profiles diligently omit. One must wonder if, in the pursuit of being "liked," we are inadvertently losing the capacity to be truly seen.
