Learning Curves in Local AI

Founder of HACOY. Painter. Writes about non linear thinking and conscious living.

Building a small AI agent to manage HACOY's Italian based inventory took me into uncharted territory. It was not just the programming that was challenging; it was understanding how humans will interact with this system in the long term and how it will evolve. I spent hours trying to teach it to recognize patterns in our stock levels, a task that seemed simple at first but turned out to be more complex than expected. The agent had to learn not just the data, but also the nuanced ways we handle inventory, like seasonal fluctuations or sudden changes in demand due to trends. These are things I used to handle by instinct and intuition as founder of HACOY, so translating them into algorithms was a new challenge. For example, the agent needed to understand that during winter months, certain materials will fly off the shelves more quickly than others, even if it doesn’t fit neatly with past data trends. It’s all part of learning how to teach machines to think in ways that mimic human intuition but remain objective and efficient. I’ve been writing about non linear thinking for years, and this was a real world test of those ideas. The agent did not just learn to recognize patterns; it learned to anticipate them. This week, I even caught myself painting while the agent ran a test cycle, which is something I haven’t done in months. It’s strange how the mind finds balance when given the chance.
